Glad to know I’m not alone.

(The above post was found here, Fandom Secrets – a good place for interesting admissions of all kinds).

As an “adult,” there are some things I would not like to admit to.  Jealousy.  Obsession.  Anger.  But these are all emotions I experience.  Maybe one day I will become a more zen person, but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.  In real life, I love expletives and while I celebrate friends successes, sometimes I do get jealous.  The secret above is one I could have easily written.  I too feel that I’ve come a long way as an author and haven’t yet met the success I want.  While it would be wonderful to reach the levels of Stephanie Meyer or EL James, I would be happy to settle for seeing my book in a bookstore – anywhere in the world.  It would be fun to get off a flight and pass by a title I wrote.  I’m not so overwhelmed by jealousy that I’ve ever stopped writing, but part of me has to wonder – when will it be my turn?

This post is also a good place to announce a bit of a change up.  I’ve been thinking about it for awhile, but feel it’s time to start broadening the content of this blog.  100 posts in and I feel I’m constantly writing about…writing.  While my process is fun (for me) to talk about, it occurs to me that some of my favorite blogs (Cup of Jo, The Bloggess) are more interesting because they write about their actual lives.  If people are going to one day buy into ‘Ann Benjamin,’ shouldn’t they get to know who she is?  Also, although we’re all special and individual snowflakes, I like to think I have a pretty unique view of the world.  So, stay tuned for (yes) more writing, but also about what makes me, me.
