While the Bookers (overall) did not like our January novel, there were a few gems. While I found the writing interesting, the ending was so wildly clunky that it really ruined the experience. Sorry, Sally Rooney.

It’s been another minute, but I thought I would share this quote. While I liked The Gilded Wolves, I didn’t love it. The world building was both impressive and clunky, to the point where I’m only moderately interested in the rest of the series.

Been in a mood to clear my TBR, so I’ve been rather brutal on my DNF vs. committing to a book. While I liked The Boy Book, I didn’t love it – so I won’t be reading the rest of the series.

Although I don’t think the sequel was needed, it was still an interesting read. And let’s face it, there’s a reality where Gilead exists (and I don’t think we’re that far removed from it).

Although perhaps this sentence is not indicative of what an interesting book Pretty Things is, I really enjoyed it, and finished it in two days. I fully expect it to be adapted to screen in the future (if it’s not already been optioned).

Honestly, I can’t say I’m enjoying this book (it’s our next pick for book club but it’s just wildly overwritten). However, I did like this sentence.
